The Stockton Delta Humane Society & SPCA is a no-kill animal shelter located in Stockton, California. It houses several hundred animals and has been operating in the greater San Joaquin area since 1966. ==History== The Stockton Delta Humane Society & S.P.C.A. was founded in 1966. The shelter has remained at its current site the whole time located at 4590 South Highway 99 Frontage Road in Stockton, California. During the early 1990s the shelter had a second location at the Weberstown Mall in Stockton, however that location closed when the mall underwent a massive renovation in 1996-97. In 2001-03, the shelter underwent a series of new construction. Included was a third outdoor dog kennel building and the demolishing and construction of a new food storage building. In 2009-10 a new Education, Awareness and Development center opened in memory of Rossi Cerri, Paul Filipelli and Judy Perry.〔Delta Humane Society Pet Saver, Vol. XV No.1, Summer 2010〕 On January 12, 2006, tragedy struck the shelter when Assistant Manager, Holly Duncan was killed on her way to work. To honor her memory the Holly's Garden and Dog Socialization Area was dedicated on March 13, 2010. The funds for this project were raised by the Duncan Family during two Holly-ween Costume Balls in October 2006 and 2007.〔(Holly's Garden & Dog Socialization Area Now Open Spring, 2010 )〕
